Highlights of this design

Design Simplicity

Fewer drivers means there are fewer sources that need to be integrated seamlessly. In this regard, simple two-way designs like the SongBird provide integration that results in seamless response between the drivers.

Incredible Imaging

For this same reason, imaging with a simple two-way design like this is superb. While these speakers will not handle as much power as our regular SongTowers or our more expensive two-way designs, these speakers offer pin-point imaging that is second to none.

Incredible Bass

Sure, the bass response of our more expensive designs is superior. But people are always amazed at the bass extension we get from a single 5" driver. This is due to the transmission line cabinets used in this design.

Transmission Line

The transmission line cabinet in this design allows the 5" woofer to play about 10Hz deeper than it would if that same driver were mounted in a standard ported cabinet. TL-based designs can also be placed closer to room boundaries without causing problems with boomy bass.

Frequency Response

Extreme Accuracy

Flat Response

As you can see in this frequency response plot, the SongBird design is extremely accurate with ruler flat response. You will hear the music EXACTLY as it was produced.

Phase Coherent

In addition to flat frequency response, the SongBird design is phase coherent in the crossover regions resulting in a speaker that images exceptionally well.
