Ultra-low distortion

When introduced, the new Purifi woofers took the audio world by storm. These drivers feature ground-breaking low levels of distortion. Their long-throw design also allows them to move massive amounts of air while maintaining excellent midrange clarity.

These are a game-changer!

Easy Load

At 90db (2.83 V/M), the BePure 2's are an easy load for just about any amp. 30 tube watts or 50 solid sate watts are plenty sufficient to drive them at relatively high SPL's.

Beryllium Tweeter

The Purifi woofers demand the kind of top end response provided by the Satori beryllium tweeter. Transparent like a ribbon, this dome tweeter offers excellent off-axis response. The beryllium cone is self-damping and has a break-up mode well beyond audibility.

Small Stature...Big Performance

This 2-way design rivals a true 3-way design in terms of frequency response and low distortion. While small in stature, it produces deep bass that defies expectations, with a foot-print that fits almost any situation.

BePure 2

The Story

When Purifi released their new 6.5" drivers, they caught the audio world by surprise. The low levels of distortion, combined with a long-throw design capable of incredible excursion, had the potential to take audio reproduction to the next level.

But having a great new woofer did not guarantee a great design. Some designers tried using them in monitor speakers.

Unfortunately, the ports required for tuning would not fit well in a monitor cabinet. So some designers tried passive radiators. They didn't have much luck in this regard either.

So rather then concentrating on a monitor design, we decided to develop a floor-standing speaker instead. The only challenge was installing a port large and long enough to achieve optimum tuning. But we got the job done and the BePure 2's became reality.

Frequency Response

Extreme Accuracy

Flat Response

As you can see in this frequency response plot, the BePure 2 design is extremely accurate with ruler flat response. You will hear the music EXACTLY as it was produced.

Phase Coherent

In addition to flat frequency response, the BePure 2 design is phase coherent in the crossover regions resulting in a speaker that images exceptionally well.

"Best New Product" - CAF 2022

"Time spent in a Salk Sound room rarely disappoints. Jim and Mary Salk were playing a two-and-a-half way floorstander, priced at $6000, that’s so new that it doesn’t actually have an official model designation. (Salk was leaning towards BePure 2—because the speaker has a beryllium tweeter and utilizes two 6″ woofers sourced from Purifi in Denmark.) As always, the caliber of the woodworking and finish was second to none. Natalie Merchant’s rendition of “The Peppery Man” with a gospel quartet was completely absorbing.
