Ellis 1801
Designed by David Ellis, the Ellis 1801's feature two of the
world's highest performance drivers and a crossover design by Dennis Murphy.
The woofer is the Seas W18 magnesium driver from their Excel
performance line. This low-mass driver delivers tight bass response that is a
perfect complement to the dynamics of the OW1 tweeter.
The tweeters are Hiquphon's OW1, almost universally regarded
as the finest traditional tweeters in the world. They are hand made in Denmark
by Oscar Wroending, who has dedicated his life to producing cutting-edge, high
performance tweeters. Each is personally tested by Oscar and furnished in
matched pairs complete with performance documentation stamped and signed by the
master himself.
The 1801 cabinet is also top shelf. It features two internal
braces and a front baffle that is 1 1/2" thick. Each cabinet weighs
approximately 35 pounds! This massive cabinet design practically eliminates
cabinet resonances that can muddy the sound.
Crossover component are among the finest currently
available.
The 1801's can be bi-wired or bi-amped at your option.

The 1801 can also be built as a slightly smaller 1801s
