Veracity of the
month...
every so often this page will highlight a
truly unique "Special Edition" Veracity project...
November # 2
The Story
This
pair of Veracity HT1's also began life as a demonstration pair for the Rocky
Mountain Audiofest.
We were looking through a pile of old veneer one day and
came across a batch of beautiful crotch mahogany. I had purchased it a few
years ago because I thought it was real handsome. But I never got around to
using it.
The sheets sizes were just large enough for a pair of
HT1's and Mike, my assistant suggested we build a pair for the RMAF.
I also had some plum pudding fiddleback mahogany lumber
laying around from another project. It seemed like a perfect match.
Crotch mahogany is very hard to work with. But if you
put for the effort, it will reward you with some spectacular figuring. This is
what nature does when it is at its best.
What's next?
Burled walnut is always handsome. Stay tuned...
