Veracity of the
month...
each month this
page will highlight a truly unique Special Edition Veracity project...
NovemberThis month's Veracity SE project
marks the introduction of a brand new model - the Veracity QW.
After hearing the Veracity QW in Dayton, I decided to
build a special version for the upcoming Iowa DIY event. The problem was, it
was only eight days away.
So we pulled out all the stops. I had some solid African
Padauk that really looked great, but it was a very striking wood - perhaps too
striking for most designs. Padauk has a tight grain pattern that alternates
between dark brown and carrot red. When finished, the carrot red turns to a
deep, dark red color.
I had some Bird's Eye Anegre looking for a project. It
is similar to bird's eye maple, but with a slight orange tint. So I thought
perhaps the two would work well together.

Here is a detailed shot of the front baffle. As you can
see, the Padauk and Bird's Eye Anegre provide nice contrast and a bold,
striking look.
Oh, and by the way, I guess it was worth the effort. The
Veracity QW scored the highest number of points awarded at this year's Iowa
event. We were quite pleased.

what's next?
December's special project is one for the holidays.
The holiday season is always rife with exotic scents and
tastes. So what would be more fitting than Cinnamon Burl and solid African
Bosse wood baffles. Bosse is a highly aromatic wood with a smell that is
reminiscent of cloves. And Cinnamon Burl features spectacular swirls that
remind one of bulbs on a holiday tree.
I really think this will be the most gorgeous pair of
speakers I have built to date.
Stay tuned...
