HT3

October # 1

The Story

HT3Bernie drove from Wisconsin to pay us a visit. He wanted full-blown HT3's in either bubinga or cherry.

He finally decided on cherry and wanted the works, including outboard crossovers and a high-gloss, hand-rubbed finish.

I had some very nice highly-figured ropey cherry veneer and was lucky enough to find a piece of cherry lumber to match.

After rubbing for three days straight, we were finally able to assemble the speakers and get them on their way. About a month later, I received this email:

Dear Jim,

I have owned my HT3's for about a month and have formed some conclusions.

The first is that their looks are stunning. Never in my life have I seen woodworking done to this level of perfection!

xoverRight out of the box the sound was beautiful. The speakers don't seem to require a lot of break in time. Their sound is well balanced and smooth. Imaging is very good, not only in height and width but in depth as well.

Their dynamics are very good. Bass response is impressive but requires an amp with guts, especially in the reproduction of organ pedal tones.

Wife acceptance factor here is unbelievable. My wife is an orchestral string player who has never been one to pick at me. Over the years I have frequently opted for good sounding speakers over good looking ones.

Since the HT3's arrived she has become much more involved in home music listening than ever before. Yesterday she remarked that the HT3's sound wonderful and are very beautiful whereas most speakers look as if they were designed for industrial use.

Over the years I have owned many speakers, some of which were very good and very expensive. None were as beautiful or as sonically satisfying as the HT3's. In sum, these are the finest and by far the most beautiful speakers I have ever owned.

Thank you.

It's always nice to receive responses like such as this. After a lot of hard work, they are greatly appreciated.

Happy listening Bernie!

What's next?

Bright colors. Stay tuned...
