HT3 leopardwood

close upSeptember # 2

Randy Bessinger was the first person to place an order for Veracity HT1's when they were originally introduced. A few months ago, he contacted me again to ask it he could trade his HT1's in on a pair of HT3a's. Sure, I said.

He told me he wanted the same ropey cherry and claro walnut used on his original HT1's...unless I had another idea. The fact is, I had been sitting on a batch of leopardwood veneer for about two years, just waiting for the right project.

I ran the idea by Randy and suggested I send him a sample. He said it wasn't necessary...just proceed. And so I did. I used leopardwood for the veneer and claro walnut for the front baffle.

From the time I started the project until I finished it, Randy never saw what I was doing. Since I was headed to Denver for the Rocky Mountain Audiofest, I took the speakers along. When Randy visited our room at RMAF, he saw his new speakers for the first time. And after RMAF was over, we stopped in Kansas City on the way home to drop them off.

Another First

baffleNot only was Randy the first to order a pair of Veracity HT1's, he was also first to order a pair of HT3a's with an active DEQX crossover.

In addition to serving as an active crossover, DEQX provides time and phase alignment of the drivers, corrects for minor deviations in the driver responses and also provides room measurement and correction. The result is near-perfect response in any room.

In all my past dealings with Randy, he has placed a great deal of trust in me. I appreciate this very much and always strive to make sure his trust is well-placed.

Thanks Randy!

Linda and I really appreciated your visit and Linda made the remark that "he sure makes beautiful speakers". That is high praise from her as she generally is not that interested in my hobby/obsession. They are BY FAR the best speakers I have ever owned.

What's next?

How about a look at my personal HT3a's?

what's next?

We are close to finishing up some very unique pairs of HT3's. Two of them are special pairs of HT3's colored with analine dye.

Stay tuned...
