"Special Edition" Veracity project...

September

maple-zebraThis month's highlight Veracity SE project is a walk on the wild side.

I was finishing a couple pairs in bird's eye maple when I came across a nice piece of African zebrawood.

I actually had another project in mind for this month, but decided to push it back to October or November and go with this one.

The zebrawood has a very pronounced grain pattern and I thought it might be a good contrast with the bird's eye. It makes a nice alternative to a black front baffle.

what's next?

October or November's project should be something really special. I recently purchased a stunning piece of 3"-thick, solid A+++ Curly Claro Walnut. The grain arcs in one direction, while the figuring arcs in the opposite direction. Colors include a range of pinks, oranges, blacks, browns and blonds. It was a truly amazing find.

Out of it, we were able to craft a pair of mirror-image, book-matched front baffles that, when combined with a gorgeous burled walnut veneer I obtained a few months back, will result in the most spectacular pair of speakers we have ever produced. I may even do a quarter book-match with the burled veneer. I'm excited.

Stay tuned...
