HT3

July # 2

baffleI know I already posted the July Veracity of the Month pictures and I have previously posted pictures of HT3's done in bubinga. But this was such a special project, I thought it deserved a listing in this section.

Rob Curtis' HT3's

Rob had seen the HT3's I did a few months back for Kris Olson. He wanted the same waterfall bubinga veneer, but wanted in it a hand-rubbed, high-gloss piano lacquer finish. But that wasn't the only thing he wanted upgraded.

Rob added the following upgrades to his request list:

  • Custom Ridge Street Audio "Poiema" internal wiring
  • Sonicap upgrades to the midrange and tweeter crossovers
  • Sonicap "Platinum" teflon caps to bypass all caps in the midrange and tweeter circuits
  • Cardas "Patented" binding posts
  • Blackhole 5 in the woofer section of the cabinet

Needless to say, these are the most marvelous sounding speakers I have done to date. I have no idea what I would do to improve them. They are the most transparent speakers I have heard. All you hear is the music.

what's next?

Well, we have a whole bunch of interesting new woods and veneers - enough to keep us busy for the next few months. Macassar ebony, Mexican cocobolo, bock mottled makore, burled English oak and others to name a few. Should be some good times ahead!

Stay tuned...
