The Story
Bruce
Robertson wanted an MTM design. At the time, we didn't offer it. But at about
the same time, another customer requested the same thing (but in a sealed,
stand-mounted version). So I thought it was time to design a new Veracity model
called the HT2.
Bruce actually ordered three of these for use in his
home theater. He had some very specific requirements (max. 39" tall, etc.)
which resulted in a one-of-a-kind project.
He wanted santos rosewood, but wanted it more on the red
side to match his decor. So after veneering the cabinets, we used multiple
coats of red aniline dye to adjust the color to meet his needs.
After spending a little time with them, Bruce reported,
"These are terrific speakers! As others have commented, the imaging is
outstanding. The HT2s have terrific detail and "tonality", without being
analytical or tiring. Layered voices and layered instruments are clearly
delineated. "Air" and "acoustic" properties are clearly conveyed. The pluck and
shimmer and speed of real music in real spaces comes through clearly. Finally,
I've noted zero issues with volume or compression. They play very loadly with
little strain."
"Overall, I highly recommend these units. I suspect
that when I do replace them (I usually live with a set for a couple of years
and then move on) it will be with giant line arrays or something similar,
because I can't imagine other tradtional box speakers really bettering them in
any important respect."
Happy listening Bruce!
What's next?
Something really cherry. Stay tuned...
