HT1 in redwood

April

It's been a while since I added any SE designs. So it is about time to pull the wraps off of this pair.

This month's Veracity SE project was inspired by the huge Redwood stands of California.

detail

The speakers are finished in burled redwood. I received four of these particularly handsome pieces of veneer and was waiting for a special project to use them.

close-upThe veneer had a small section of sapwood shaped similar to the tip of a bird's wing. I used this "feature" in the upper front corner of all four sides. I think it worked well.

The front baffles came from a 30 year-old piece of curly redwood, split down the middle to create a book-matched pair.

Obviously I'm biased, but I think this is probably the most attractive pair of Veracity's yet. But there are more SE projects in the pipline...

what's next?

We've received so many orders for combinations we've produced in the past, that I don't know the details of our next SE project. But I'm guessing it will have something to do with crotch mahogany.

Stay tuned...
