Criterion
ribbons make it real
Approximately the same size as the AV1, the Criterion was
designed by Danny Richie and features a an G2 ribbon tweeter coupled with a
Eton Hex-b woofer.
The ribbon tweeters are extremely fast and accurate. They
are almost totally transparent.
The Eton Hex-b woofer extends the low end to a -3db down
point of 55Hz.
The crossover compenents are first rate. The cabinet is
extremely heavy for a speaker of this size.
The result is a rock-solid, smooth and transparent speaker
that is rarely matched in terms of sound quality. This is a speaker that will
never fatigue and will constantly amaze you with its performance.

The Criterion is ideal for either high-end two channel
applications or home theater applications when combined with a subwoofer(s) and
used as left, center, right and rear channels.

Criterion pricing
Normally, speakers of this quality retail for up to $2500
per pair, depending on the finish. But because these are custom produced and
you are purchasing direct, you can expect to pay considerably less. Criterion
pricing was originally $1699.00 per pair. But GR-Research just changed the
design and now uses the less expensive G2si tweeter rather than the G2. The
price with the G2si starts at $1449.00 per pair.
